Continuing its commitment to passenger safety, Lexus now offers standard front active headrests 2010 Lexus GS 350 and Lexus GS 460 models.
The gas GS luxury sport sedan comes in three models – RWD GS 350, GS 350 and GS 460 RWD AWD. Optimized for low internal friction, the GS 350’s 3.5-liter V6 engine produces 303 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 274 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. A system of direct fuel injection provides much finer fuel-mixture control to improve power and fuel efficiency. Dual variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) acts on the inlet and exhaust valves to further enhance performance across a wide rpm range. A smooth-shifting transmission six-speed sequential gearbox allows any time.

Lexus GS 460 V8 produces 342 horsepower at 6,400 rpm, 339 lb-ft of torque at 4,100 rpm. The GS 460, Lexus GS 350 and complies with the EPA Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-II) certification. Lexus has been setting standards for powertrain smoothness since its inception, and the GS 460 V8 and eight-speed automatic transmission continue that tradition. Transmission as the six-speed automatic in the Lexus GS 350 models, allows manual shifting for a more engaging experience of driving, and help maximize performance in certain driving situations. The Lexus GS 460 accelerates from zero to 60mph in 5.4 seconds, the Lexus GS 350 in 5.7 (8.5 for AWD).
The Lexus GS combines chassis systems with advanced dynamic handling technology to deliver agile handling and smooth ride Lexus brand. The double-wishbone front suspension and multilink rear suspension changes virtually eliminate unwanted wheel angle during suspension movement. The result is a natural feeling, sure that it is also spirit. By 34.1 feet. Turning radius (35.4 m for GS 350 AWD) is comparable to that of smaller cars and helps the SG highly maneuverable.
In all GS models, Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and antilock brakes (ABS) help form a front for powerful security. EBD optimizes braking pressure at each wheel to help reduce body dive or sway for hard braking and cornering. BA is designed to determine if the driver is attempting emergency braking and, if the driver has not stepped firmly enough on the brake pedal to activate the ABS, the braking force applied to growing pressure on the pedal is released.

aluminum alloy wheels are standard 18 inches in the Lexus GS 460 and the rear-wheel-drive Lexus GS 350, with 17-inch wheels. For maximum handling capacity, the Lexus GS 350 comes standard with 225/50R17 tires W-rated summer. The all-season tires run flat 17-inch are standard on the Lexus GS 350 AWD are available on the GS 350 RWD. The GS 460 is equipped with tires 245/40R18 Z-rated summer or available for all stations run stories.
The Lexus GS 350 is available in all wheel drive system helps to improve the management of various driving conditions. A planetary center differential gears and a clutch of multi-disc wet type of control power distribution from front to back. The system normally sends 70 percent of available power to the rear wheels to provide the traditional performance advantages of a rear-wheel drive and can vary the proportion of par-separated from 30:70 to 50: 50 in response to driving conditions and driver. The strategy of all-wheel drive control electronics has inputs such as steering and throttle angle from driver activity of the vehicle along with signals from wheel speed and speed sensors.
An Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) system, standard on the Lexus GS 460 and available on the GS 350, provides two settings, normal and “sport”, more stringent, more precise control. AVS can automatically select appropriate suspension damping for driving conditions. The Lexus GS 460 also features advanced active power stabilizer that helps reduce body sway and enhances vehicle control during cornering. An electronic control unit (ECU) calculates the force needed to counter excess body sway, which is applied to the stabilizer bars front and rear actuators. The GS 350 models are equipped with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with traction control. The system can be disabled with the “TRAC Off” when the situation warrants it.

In the GS 460, Lexus Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system integrates and manages a number of management technologies, including VSC. The combination of contributions from a variety of sensors, VDIM is designed to anticipate the onset of a rash of vehicle or slide and then help correct the situation with a combination of braking, throttle and steering control. VDIM integration helps to provide precise management for the Electronically Controlled Brakes (ECB), Value change of address variable (VGRS), Electric Power Steering (EPS), VSC, ABS, BA, EBD, and torque through electronically controlled throttle.
EPS in the Lexus GS 460 provides precise electric power assistance with a DC motor built into the steering box. Also in the GS 460, VGRS can vary the steering from 2.7 turns lock to lock for low-speed maneuverability to a slower 3.2 turns lock to lock for highway-speed control. VGRS also provides differential steering control, which helps to correct a delay in steering response, something that occurs in all vehicles, to help enhance driving feel during lane changes and other transitional maneuvers.
ECB The Lexus GS 460 is a brake cable system. ECB translates brake pedal pressure into electric signals that, via computer control, help provide precise and optimized braking. Electronic control provides quick brake response when needed, help the Lexus GS 460 is the VDIM system to anticipate and help correct skids before they occur. The ECB system is backed by conventional hydraulic brake control in the unlikely event of electronic failure.
