The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S accelerates from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.7 seconds on its way to a track-proven top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h). That’s a ten percent increase in power and a seven percent boost in torque over the Cayenne Turbo. of torque. Sharing the same essential 4.8-liter V8 engine as the Cayenne S, GTS and Turbo, the Turbo S boasts 550 horsepower and 553 lb.-ft.

As with the Cayenne GTS, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S boasts bolstered front and rear sport seats. The interior of the Turbo S is also distinct with its standard two-tone, padded leather steering wheel and carbon fiber door and dash trim. In addition, the dashboard and upper door panels have coordinating seams finished in the lighter upholstery color. Buyers have a choice of either Black/Havanna or Black/Steel Grey seating surfaces, as well as solid Black or Sand Beige. The passenger cabin of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S boasts a unique look thanks to its standard two-color leather upholstery.

As befits any flagship wearing the renowned Porsche crest, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is the most powerful Cayenne ever built.

PDCC features active control of body lean in curves for improved response, agility and increased passenger comfort. Besides its more potent turbocharged engine, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S differs mechanically from the Turbo by coming with Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) as standard equipment. The front seats have an extended memory feature and the three-person rear seat features contours for the outer positions.

And both are certified as Low- Emissions Vehicles, Tier II (LEV-II). Both the 2009 Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Porsche Cayenne Turbo S are rated by the EPA to deliver 12 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. Given Porsche’s sensitivity to environmental concerns, despite the astounding performance capabilities of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, the new model carries no fuel economy penalty over the Cayenne Turbo. Like the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo, the Turbo S comes standard with a six-speed Tiptronic S driver-shiftable automatic transmission.

Finally, for those who want, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is offered in a unique exterior color: Lava Grey Metallic. When seen from the rear, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is instantly recognizable by its dual-twin tailpipes made of precision cast aluminum, inspired by those on the Porsche Carrera GT. Other unique visual clues to the flagship’s identity are the body-color wheel arch extensions and matte-finish air intake grilles. Instantly recognizable as a Cayenne, and clearly identifiable as a unique model, the Turbo S rides on standard 21 inch alloy wheels carrying humongous 295/35 wide-aspect tires.

By: Mario Olivera

The fast and luxurious cars from Porsche and Ferrari originated in Europe; Germany and Italy respectively. Both exotic sports cars are more than 50 years old with cutting edge engineering and exquisite styling. These two cars have always been compared for many reasons since they are race cars, cars of status for the rich. Most people always correlate these cars with style and performance.

A modern exotic sports car should have the following traits: it should be easy to start, low to the ground, maneuver well around the city with fat tires, able to put your pedal to the metal on a couple of open and safe roads.

The Ferrari 430 and Porsche 911 Carrera S are two sports cars that are begging to be compared in road tests. What are the results ? Well the Ferrari 430 will zoom from 0 to 100km in 4 seconds while the Porsche does it in 4.8 seconds. Hardly something you can consider slow, but when comparing it to the 430 it is noticeably slower. For fast acceleration like this, both sports cars will need sport brakes, both offer ceramic disc brakes.

Both cars provide impressive power utilizing 6-speed gearboxes and offer top of the line performance handling. These exotic cars offer excellent and comfortable interior space and even when the space seems limited, the passengers won’t feel cramped.

Let’s talk about the exterior. The Carrera S4 has a finish that is at a premium level, in and of itself, and surpasses the Ferrari 430 which is still impressive with carbon fiber, aluminum and a combination of suede in the interior. Although, the Germans excel on the finish, the 911 Carrera S looks like a 911 and doesn’t bring as many ooohs and ahhhs as a Ferrari does when it comes to appearance. Ferrari’s just generate more attention possibly due to their rarity on the road and higher price. Nevertheless, most people, if given the opportunity, will not pass up the Ferrari F430 if they had the cash. In the end, they just may do that because of the Porsche 911 Carrera S having a more complete package but you can always test drive your favorite exotic sports car and make your own decision.

Mario Olivera is avid luxury car owner and contributor who likes both the Ferrari and Porsche sports cars

In 2009 is set to be launched a four-door, four-seat coupe, called Porsche Panamera. The car, powered by a modified version of the 4.5 L V8 found in the Cayenne, equipped with the FSI system will be front engined and rear wheel drive. Although it is extremely unlikely, rumors is that an option for the Panamera will be the V10 engine from Porsche’s limited-run Carrera GT supercar.

Porsche Panamera will be produced in the new plant at Leipzig alongside the Cayenne. It is the first V8-engined sports car built by Porsche since 1995, when the 928 was discontinued and some consider it a suitable successor to the two-doored 928. The company built the new model as a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz CLS 55 AMG and Maserati Quattroporte and (to a lesser degree) a less expensive alternative to expensive vehicles such the, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, Bentley Continental GTand Aston Martin Rapide.

Like Porsche Carrera`s name, the Panamera`s derives from the Carrera Panamerican race. Before it, there were other four-door sedans prototypes, such as the 1991 Porsche 989 prototype or the even earlier 4 door prototype based on the 911, but they never went into production.
