The updated version of the BMW 1-series vehicles will be coming soon in to the market with more key features. Like technology that changes in an instant, BMW decided to upgrade the first model into a 3-door sports hatch variant in 2007. In fact, an estimate of 149, 493 units were sold. Because of its cheap price but high quality components, it became one of the bestsellers of the company. It was created in Regenburg and Leizig, Germany and this is currently regarded as the smallest and the less expensive among BMW listing.

Looking outside the model, the 2010 BMW 1-Series models will be provided with the features like windshield wipers with rain sensors and automatic intermittent, glass remote front sunroof, painted rear and front bumpers, fixed The curb to curb turning circle of the vehicle will be 35.1 feet. It will have the front track of 58.4 inches and rear track of 59.7 inches respectively. The length, width and the height of the model will be 171.7 inches, 68.8 inches and 56.0 inches respectively.

As far as the dimensions of the latest model are concerned, 2010 BMW 1-Series cars will have the wheelbase of 104.7 inches. What’s more, electronic traction control through engine management and ABS, along with electronic brake distribution and cornering brake control will render enhanced control over the vehicle. The standard features that are expected to be included in the 2010 1-Series model are strut front suspension with coil springs and stabilizer bar, improved stability control, antilock braking system, immobilizer and brake assist system. The 3.0 liter I-6 engine will have bore size of 85.0 mm, compression ratio of 10.7 and stroke of 88.0 mm with four valves per cylinder, variable valve timing and double overhead cam. The 2010 1-Series from BMW comes powered by 3.0 liter I-6 engine that can produce power levels of up to 172 kilo watts at an angular speed of 6500 rpm, and torque of 271 Nm at an angular speed of 2750 rpm.

Moreover, the interior of the The car’s more dynamic side skirts further underline its dynamism, inviting you to open the door and take a seat. The place where the passenger stays is set a little far back, drawing the eye at once to the rear axle. It is created with elongated doors and frameless windows that will help make the most of the car’s sporting appeal. A little change was done in the originals taillight and headlight, bumper and on its interior.

But unlike the other model, the BMW 1 Series was fashioned on an original platform although it shares its component with the E90 3 Series. The BMW 1 Series was created to replace the BMW 3 Series Compact models. The longitudinally-engine is also known a north-south engine. This model is also among the vehicle of its class that feature a rear-wheel drive as well as longitudinally-mounted engine which is an internal combustion engine by which the crankshaft is situated along the long axis of the vehicle. Basically, the BMW 1 Series is a small luxury car essentially a family vehicle, created in the year 2004.

These people actually I suppose this is justly so as no one actually buys BMWs to drive anymore. Nowhere does it state that BMW makes the ultimate driving machines anymore. If you look at their website, it now states ‘Sheer Driving Pleasure’ or ‘Joy is Driving’. I think this is the reason BMW do not go around with the ‘ultimate driving machine’ statement anymore. I guess, in a way, this is an unfortunate news. Or perhaps to make the effort to go through the owner’s manual after they have purchased the car. I mean honestly, I would expect the people who are buying the 1-series to read the brochure that informs them of the specifications of the car. For those of you reading this, if you are part of the 80% that have been mentioned above, I have the civic duty to inform you that the BMW 1-series is a Rear Wheel Drive.

However, it has now been revealed in a statement made by BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer during a telephone interview session with journalists that 80% of the people who bought the 1-series thought that it was a front wheel drive. BMW had built the 1-series with the intention of spreading their gospel of the ‘ultimate driving machine’ and part of that picture they painted was the fact that rear wheel drive would be part of the recipe to build such a machine. I am awfully sorry BMW, but all your efforts to try and convince yourselves that those who bought your 1-series are avid driving enthusiasts have failed.
